Sammi & Ryan ~ A Black Tie Affair at the Madrona

Sammi and Ryan live in Chicago but knew they wanted a wedding in wine country. They dreamed of an outdoor wedding, in a garden setting, with top rated cuisine. After visiting a few venues, they saw the newly renovated Madrona Hotel in Healdsburg and it was love at first site. They signed a contract immediately and we began planning their wedding right away.

There is something really special about the Madrona. It’s quaint, cozy setting makes you feel right at home. The designs are awe inspiring and it’s hard not to pay attention to every single detail. I am in love with its casual luxury – not to mention its Michelin star rated cuisine. It really an amazing little boutique hotel that every should know about, if they do not already.

Given that food was a top priority, they opted for a farm to table 4-course dinner starting with a scallop crudo, followed by a smoked tomato and burrata salad, with a choice halibut or filet mignon entree and finished with wedding cake and mini desserts. The care that the chef puts into each plate that is served was apparent. The food was not only delicious, but beautifully presented. This is a meal that the guests will never forget.

The setting at the Madrona Hotel is so beautiful. The lawn so gently slopes, allowing all of the guests a great view of the ceremony. The deck with lanterns hanging above from tree branches was the perfect space to gather for cocktails. And the dining patio with the grey and white floor and black and white awnings, was the perfect backdrop to our beautifully appointed dining tables. After dinner, the guests danced the night away on the deck as some choose to hang inside the Victorian house to have soft conversation by the fireplace. It really fit everyone’s needs and was apparent that everyone was having the best time ever.
